The Skaters Coalition for Concrete is a community based, not for profit, group of skateboarding supporters who have been dedicated to working with the Town of Pagosa to facilitate the construction of a concrete skateboard park in Pagosa. The dream has finally become a reality, and it would not have been possible without the enormous effort that skaters, families, and supporters have invested in the new park over the past decade.

The Skaters’ Coalition for Concrete formed over a decade ago, and recently held its eighth annual competition in Yamaguchi Park and added $700 dollars to the funds it has raised for the next phase of the project.

This brings the Coalition’s total funds to $19,800. In addition, pledges from the Town of Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County could potentially bring the Coalition’s account up to $62,000, which is slightly more than 40 percent of the $153,000 estimated cost for construction of the “skull bowl.”

The skate park is located on South 5th Street in Yamaguchi Park. Current features include a mini bowl, flip bank, pyramid, table top and wall ride.
