Considering its small town character and relatively secluded location, Pagosa Springs is able to offer its residents many quality educational resources, including public schools (Pagosa Springs Elementary, Pagosa Springs Middle School, and Pagosa Springs High School) private schools (Our Savior Lutheran School, G.O.A.L. Academy) adult education offerings through the Archuleta County Education Center, as well as an active Homeschooling community.
The nearest four-year college, Fort Lewis College, is located in Durango, 60 miles west of Pagosa Springs. It offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate level classes, and has a well-respected faculty. In Pagosa itself, the Archuleta County Education Center also offers college level classes in conjunction with Pueblo Community College.
