Spence Scott has been selected and cast in the feature role of “Prince Robert”

The cast of the Curtains Up Pagosa! holiday show, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is busily rehearsing to bring this classic fairytale to the high school stage, December 12-15. This updated original script and music brings a refreshing approach to this enchanting tale. Tickets will be sold at the door and in advance at the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce.

“Our ‘dwarfs’ are not necessarily short people, but each brings a convincing character to the stage,” says Darcy DeGuise, associate director. For instance, the character of Slow Poke is played by Taylor Jones who is tall and long legged. She moves as if in slow motion, her long legs refusing to take her at anything other than a lugubriously slow pace. Ticklish, adorably played by Julian Oliver, giggles his way through the story’s dilemmas. Other dwarfs include Sarge (Jeremy Medina), Gabby (Anika Thomas), Gloomy Gus (Billy Baughman), Spritely (Brooke Kudelski), and Snore (Elsa Lindner). Each brings comic charm and personality to their character, dancing and singing, bringing to life a beloved story of our childhood.

The musical score is toe tappingly fun, featuring a rousing bluegrass style chase scene, complete with fiddle and banjo. There are also lyric melodies, such as “It’s a Wonderful Day” and “Oh my Prince,” beautifully sung by Ami Crook as Snow White, as well as a swinging jazz duet, “I’ve Got This Apple,” sung by Anne Price who plays the Crone, and Ami Crook.

This musical will be fun for the entire family, a real holiday treat. Save the date and make plans to make “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” a special part of your family festivities.
