Transportation/Shuttle to the race site: Your registration fee includes a shuttle and equipment transport to the race site. Racers will load the race van by 8am, after loading skis and bikes on another vehicle. Racers will also need to leave swim equipment at The Springs Resort pool, next to the Visitors Center building. Race van will stop at the “chain up area” on Hwy 160 to unload bikes on the way to the West Fork XC track.
9am Ski Race Start: 8:30am: Racers arrive at the West Fork track and unload skis. Limited parking is allowed at the West Fork Nordic area. 4×4 vehicles only are allowed down the hill, others must park on Hwy 160 and walk down. Teams only will be allowed to park at the West Fork Nordic area if carpooling. Race will start at 9am. Racers have the option of skate or classic on the same course.
10km X-C Ski: Race starts at 9am at the West Fork Nordic Trail. The X-C Ski leg is freestyle, so your choice Skate Ski or Classic Ski. Racers will make two out and backs to the 2nd bridge and back to the TH.
5km Run: The 5k run will consist of running from the West Fork XC track up the hill to Hwy 160, to just east of the Treasure Falls parking lot and return to the “chain up” area to mount your waiting bikes or tag off to your team member.
22km Road Bike: The 22K bike portion consists of a road ride that begins at the chain up station and heads west on Hwy 160 to The Springs Resort pool next to the Visitors Center building. Riders will make a left turn at either 2nd Street or Hot Springs Blvd to get to the Springs Resort. Riders must wear brightly colored clothing, helmets and obey all traffic laws. No outside help or law enforcement will be available on the bike ride. If the road is icy or it is snowing, other arrangements will be made.
1/2km Swim: Racers will begin the last leg of the Quad by placing bikes against the pool wall and changing into swim gear at the Chamber building. Racers will enter into the pool through the pool wall gate, not the main resort entrance. You will begin swimming in an assigned lane. Swimmers must count their own laps (10 laps or 20 lengths). Exiting the pool, racers must exit the gate and give the race officials their numbers.
Awards and lunch: After all racers have finished the race, awards and some food will be provided at a location to be determined. Transportation back to the West Fork track for retrieval of equipment will not be provided. Race sweepers will gather left over items and return to the Springs Resort.
