ALAMOSA — At about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Excel Energy announced that a major gas distribution line that runs into the Valley had experienced problems and that Valley residents are asked to conserve natural gas through 9 a.m. Saturday.
Excel spokesman Tom Henley said the pipeline is located along US Hwy. 160 and company officials believe the break in the line is in the Pagosa Springs, Colo. area.
The conservation request involves all San Luis Valley area consumers as well as those living in Gunnison, Crested Butte and Salida, Colo.
