Youth tennis

The July session of youth tennis for ages 7-10 begins July 3 at 11 a.m. at the Wyndham Resorts tennis facility.

Subsequent sessions for ages 7-10 will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 11am -12 pm, and sessions for ages 11-13 will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am-12 pm through the end of the month.

Participants are reminded that they must have a tennis racquet and non-marking athletic or tennis shoes. Running shoes can cause injuries as they are not designed for lateral movement.

All necessary equipment may be ordered from Dale Schwicker at very reasonable costs; he can be contacted at 731-3363.
For more information contact Andy Rice, recreation supervisor, at 264-4151 Ext. 231.

Hooked on Fishing

All participants who have registered for this year's "Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs" program should report to the boat ramp at Lake Forest at 10 a.m. Monday.

Parents who are not participating as program volunteers should make arrangements to have children picked up at the boat ramp no later than 4 p.m. Sack lunches are not required for next week's session (July 6), as hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be provided.

Weather permitting, fishing sessions will be held each Monday at Lake Forest from 10 a.m.- 4p.m. through July 27.

For more information, call the recreation office at 264-4151 Ext. 232.

Sand volleyball

For the third consecutive year, adult sand volleyball will be offered by the recreation department at the South Pagosa Park sand volleyball courts.

This year, there will be no fees for registration as games will be informal and played without a referee. However, the courts will be reserved for play and a schedule and game balls will be provided.

The tentative plan is for games to be played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Registrations are available at the Town of Pagosa Springs Recreation office and will be accepted until Friday, July 3, with play scheduled to begin the following week and continuing for approximately six weeks.

Please contact Andy Rice at 264-4151 Ext. 231 for more information.

Adult softball

Adult softball league schedules are available at the recreation office and are also posted on the recreation department page at
www.townofpagosasprings.com.

Managers are reminded that team registration fees are $250 and due prior to the start of each team's first game. Individual player fees are $30 and due prior to the start of each player's second game. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Town of Pagosa Springs.
