Upcoming Education Hikes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ July 26 - Llama hike - Several spots have already been reserved for this llama hike at DMR, so reserve your own now! Join an SJMA naturalist and Lois the llama lady for a beautiful, fun day on the mountain. Llamas carry your lunch, wine and cheese and are great companions during the hike.
July 31 - Alpine/subalpine hike - We will hike the Pass Creek Trail to the alpine meadows at the base of Engineer Mountain and explore the subalpine and alpine ecosystems, meandering through mature spruce-fir forests and high meadows to learn about the plants, animals and ecology of these high mountain ecosystems. The wildflowers will be abundant and the views spectacular. Hike is lead by Larry Eads, whose background in Forestry and love of the natural world make this an opportunity not to be missed! Registration is required.
For both programs, Contact Gabi Morey at 385-1256 or gabi@sjma.org to register.
