The Pagosa Quality Fish Stocking Project, managed by Thad Cano of the Ski and Bow Rack, has succeeded in its effort to make the San Juan River in Pagosa Springs the most stocked waterway in the country.

The Town Tourism Committee granted $25,000.

A "private donation" of another $25,000.

Thad has raised $10,000 from town people.

Thad has the first truck of 400 fish coming for stocking Friday so, there will be good fishing this holiday weekend. Most fish will be put in the river but the two ponds in east Pagosa will be stocked also making better fishing for young people. 

This has been a short but highly intense civic project and Thad is to be congratulated for his civic awareness, his hard work and success. Go by and give Thad a pat on the back, he deserves it.

July 14, July 21, July 28 and Aug 4.
