Local Boy brings his yoga expertise back home to Pagosa Springs, CO.
Stan Woodman and his wife Gina are the new owners of Yoga Pagosa.
Stan has spent the last 10 years studying and teaching yoga in New York. He started his yoga practice in Pagosa over 15 years ago with Nikki Taylor and moved to New York where he began a close relationship studying yoga intensely with Beryl Bender Birch, highly respected and one of the world’s top yoga teachers. As one of Beryl’s senior teachers, Stan traveled to Europe, Central America and throughout the United States teaching and assisting Beryl Bender Birch’s workshops and teacher training programs.His continued passion for yoga led him to study with Sri K Pattabhi Jois in Mysore India, David Swenson, Tim Miller, Richard Freeman and Eddie Stern.

Gina has been teaching yoga in New York City for over 10 years. She is on the Teacher Training faculty at OM yoga Center in NYC, founded by Cyndi Lee, author of Yoga Body, Buddha Mind. Gina is also on the Omega Institute’s teaching faculty in Costa Rica; St. John, Virgin Islands; and Rhinebeck, NY where she had the amazing opportunity to teach yoga for Pema Chodron’s retreat. In addition, she has studied extensively with renowned teachers Alan Finger, Cyndi Lee, David Nichtern, Rodney Yee, Beryl Bender Birch, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and John Friend.Her interest in meditation led her to study Buddhism at the Shambhala Center and Vipasana meditation retreats in India.

For the past two years, Stan and Gina have owned and operated Greenwich Yoga Holistic Center and Juice Bar Café in Greenwich, CT with their 4-month-old baby girl Kaia.
As new owners of Yoga Pagosa, they bring their knowledge and experience of yoga, amazing workshops by world renowned yoga teachers, a 200 Hour “Nationally Recognized” Teacher Training Program and wonderful retreat opportunities to support local businesses and nurture the growing local yoga scene. For starters, Beryl Bender Birch and Stan will be teaching a 3-Day Yoga Workshop at Yoga Pagosa, July 18th-20th, 2008 and Gina will be teaching a 200 Hour OM yoga Teacher Training Program in the fall with Cyndi Lee and David Nichtern.
