The Four Corners Biker Rally Association approached the board about funding marketing efforts for its rally near Mancos. The board agreed and approved $5,000 for the rally by a 4-0 vote March 20.

Later, Ignacio Bike Week, a rival rally, also asked for a marketing grant.

"We didn't know there was another group," said Jasper Welch, Business Improvement District coordinator.

The two rallies have a complex history.
