What Pagosa Looks Like

By D. West Davies Photography | Apr 30, 2008

Pagosa Springs is a charming mountain town located in the heart of southern Colorado. Many of Pagosa.com's readers are folks interested and dreaming of visiting and living here. Here we offer a view of town capture by West Davies. Return to this page as updates are added.

Most of Pagosa's main street is delightfully one sided. Across from the buildings is a parking area that overlooks the San Juan River and the hot springs area.

Doesn't look like it but this is a few feet from the busiest intersection in town.

This scenic building is in east Pagosa.

Pagosa is a colorful place both natural and manmade.

When the sun is low in the sky it casts beautiful light on the town.

Sunsets are wonderful.

You just do not run out of scenery in and around Pagosa Springs. This scene is the stateline on highway 84 a few miles sount of town.

Summer is very colorful.

Stocked lakes and beauty, a wonderful afternoon.

This bell tower with information and restroom is the location where town hall was for many years. It is the center of downtown.

Just behind the bell tower but facing Lewis Street is this old adobe building. It is one of the oldest structures in town and has seen a lot of history.

From The Springs Resort, this view over the bathhouse is just one of Pagosa's stunning vistas.

Pagosa's main street burned several times in the distant past. This problem was solved when brick was introduced to the area. This building has shopping below and office space on the second floor.

Another grand old building houses shops, offices and Pagosa's 'monoplex' movie theather.

A message from D. West Davies;

Like most of us here I settled in Pagosa Springs because of its unparalleled beauty.  Pagosa attracts a special type of person – someone who is tired of the traffic, crime and unfriendliness of the bigger cities. Pagosa is a destination, a place that people dream of living in, a place that people save for years and years and count the days until they can move here.  Pagosa is land of healing, vibrancy and activity.

I live here with my wife Mellane and our daughter Katriel and we are expecting little guy this June.  We enjoy the summer activities such as hiking, biking and photography. In the winter, the ski slopes are just minutes away. Or we can cross country ski in our neighborhood or ride snowmobiles in the forest.

I enjoy working with the special folks who dream of living in Pagosa Springs. The excitement they bring with them is contagious and it reminds me of the time I first laid eyes on this beautiful place.

I take pride in knowing the area well and making sure that I can help a buyer find that special property that fits their desires. I’m also a great listener.  I believe it’s important to find you the property you want – not the property I want you to buy. As a REALTOR, I subscribe to our strict code of ethics, ensuring my buyers the highest ethical treatment.

The internet continues to change our business dramatically. Mellane and I spend countless hours improving our website (www.dwestdavies.com) so we can provide our buyers and sellers accurate and visually appealing information about our town through the use of interactive maps, photographs and videos. Please continue to check our website from time to time to see the new and exciting features we continue to add.
