Searchers have found a small plane that went missing Sunday after flying out of Animas Air Park near Durango.
Butch Knowlton, director of the La Plata County Office of Emergency Management, said he received word that the plane and pilot have been found. He said the pilot was seen walking around the plane and that a medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene.
The pilot's family has been informed.
Capt. Steve Hamilton, spokesman for the Colorado wing of the Civil Air Patrol, said earlier that the CPA was told that there had been an "unofficial" sighting of the plane by a small, local airline that runs sightseeing tours. Hamilton could not give the location of the unofficial sighting.
