KSUT Executive Director Beth Warren has been named the state's Broadcast Citizen of the Year by the Colorado Broadcasters Association.
Warren, who has been with the station for 16 years, was nominated by Eddie Box Jr., KSUT board president, for dedication to increasing funding and technical resources for the station.
Also helping was her commitment to public radio excellence, community volunteer work and advocacy for area nonprofits, a KSUT news release said.
"To be in the company of Colorado's largest TV and radio stations, and hear my name called out for this award was the honor of a lifetime," the release quoted Warren as saying.
News Director Victor Locke and Operations Director Ken Brott placed first for community-service campaign with Fire Wise Wildfire Awareness Month.
"It's always a pleasure to be recognized by your peers for the work that you do," Locke said Sunday.
Locke also won best news feature for the Smylie Bike Project and placed second in news coverage for the Desert Rock hearings.
Independent producer Kathrine Warren placed first in best sales promotion for an advertiser, and Station Manager Stasia Lanier placed second for the KSUT Web site, ksut.org. A KSUT ad campaign aimed at area high school students received a second-place award.
The awards were given earlier this month in Denver.
KSUT broadcasts to the Four Corners at 88.1, 89.5, 90.1, 91.3, 100.1 and 105.3 FM.
