Skate pond closed
Due to deteriorating ice conditions, the skate pond at the River Center has been closed for the season.
The ice is no longer thick enough to support foot traffic, and the public is advised to avoid trekking onto the surface.
Christmas tree recycling
The Town of Pagosa Springs is conducting its annual Christmas tree recycling program through the end of this week.
Citizens interested in participating in this program can drop off trees to be recycled at South Pagosa Park on South 8th Street; look for the signs directing recyclers to the collection area.
Trees should be stripped of all ornaments and lights prior to being left for recycling. The parks department will chip collected trees into mulch to be used for landscaping projects during the coming season.

The recreation department is accepting donations for next year's Fourth of July fireworks show.
Donations in any amount will be accepted; checks and money orders should be made payable to Town of Pagosa Springs.
Donations should be addressed "Attention: Fireworks" and mailed to P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. If you would like to make a cash donation, please do so in person at the front desk in Town Hall.
