Capote Lake (ka-po-tea)
Capote Lake rests on Ute Reservation property just east of Chimney Rock and within view of Highway 160, about fifteen miles west of Pagosa Springs. The Utes stock this lake with fish and allow the public to pay a fee for fishing with no need for a Colorado fishing license.
